I have a T400s and for the most part I like it. However, I've run into a couple of minor build quality issues and I wanted to see if any other owners had similar experiences.
First, some of the buttons (the mute buttons and the power buttons) appear to be uneven -- they are flush against the front edge, but a few millimeters below the back edge of the surface. Is this an intentional design choice? Is there some way this makes the buttons easier to press? Or is it just sloppy?
Second, the case appears to be slightly warped, the laptop does not rest on all four cushions when set down -- it rests on three, and as I type the front left corner bounces up and down -- it's quite annoying, as the whole laptop shakes. I believe this happened after I sent the laptop in for service. Is this considered normal by Lenovo, or is it something they could fix?

Re: Slight T400s build quality issues?
I have a T400s and it is flawless. No warping or any kind of cosmetic defect. In contrast, I sent back two MacBook Pros before getting my T400s. One had dust wedged between the layers of the screen that created a black spot, the other had a dent in the aluminum. I was thoroughly unimpressed with Apple quality control. I am extremely impressed and thrilled with my ThinkPad.

This has been reported numerous times on these forums. It has been suggested by a user who has had the laptop for a while, that this goes away after a while and the laptop straightens itself out.jthomas_null wrote:Second, the case appears to be slightly warped, the laptop does not rest on all four cushions when set down -- it rests on three, and as I type the front left corner bounces up and down -- it's quite annoying, as the whole laptop shakes.
