T400 Ultrabay devices re-usable in T400s?

I have a T400 and is thinking of picking up another ( lighter ) laptop. Between X301 or T400s, I would probably pick T400s if I can share devices like DVDRW, HD enclouse, bay battery, etc. Both of them have 9.5 mm device bay and both of them are SATA interface. So my question is : has anyone actually tried it?

Also, the LCD is definitely "thinner" in T400s. Does it provide less protection to the LCD screen itself? Do you get the eraser head mark on the screen easily if you put your T400s in a backpack?

Thanks

I come from a x61s to a T400s so maybe an owner of a T400 should confirm this but to my understanding T400 ultrabay adapter will fit although the bezel will not match.

You will need a new docking station.

I find the feel of the new thin LED screen to be different. Feels quit stiff and solid if you press on the closed lid. However you can easily twitch it if you grap the top left an right corner and bend. And yes I do have the small mark on the screen from the "nipple" so in this regard it just about the same as my old X61s.

I do love the fact that the screen is very bright. This is the first Thinkpad I can easily use outside in direct sunlight. I am very happy with the build quality.

I also did look at the X301 but was put off by the low CPU clock speed, no better than my old X61s and the lack of a docking station.

The T400 optical drive fits fine in the T400s (I've tried this myself). As mentioned above, the bezel is slightly different but you'd never notice unless you had both to compare. Don't know about Ultrabay battery or HDD adapter though.
