Here is something I have done with other models. (I have never done it on T400 or T500.) First get a good image copy of your hard drive. In my case, I have extra drives, so I can clone the drive and test that it works. If you cloned your drive to a second disk, use the copy. I then restore from the recovery partition. At that point, you can again make factory-contents recovery media. I then go back to my original drive.

richk's solution will work if you don't want to restore your main drive. Another option would be to call Lenovo support, explain the problem and ask for a set of discs. Before you do this see my reply to your other post.

you can use other program ( as Norton Ghost ) to make a full backup of current system and you can restor it later.
I did this myself.
Anybody knows the use of HHD SERVICEV003 (S) ?
Good luck

u are selecting factory settings, what happens if you click on no?
i tried this
i booted from the start up disc. after a time it asked for disc 1( it says like if you have a system disc recovery disc 1 insert it) and i inserted it. but it doesn't accept and said : this is not correct disc. please remove the correct disc and press ok. a tried it several times with disc 1 and with disc2, start up disc. but it doesn't accept any one.

so what can i do for this problem?

and the other

When you have a backup using Norton Ghost make on CDs and you will be able to restor the system using these CDs.
Good luck
