Are the screen options the same on the T400s vs the larger T400?

I was looking at reviews in Notebookcheck.com and their review results seemed to suggest that the "high nit" hi res screen (1400 x 900) on both of these units, actually differers in quality and brightness.

Also how do these screen compare to say the best screen available on the Del Studio 14Z? Does anyone have expereince with both?

Hi. I think the two screens have the same features in T400 and T400s. But the High Nit screen in T400 is only 1200x 800
but is a perfect choice for out-door using. There is a movie by Lenovo that describs the High Nit screen.
Good luck

None of the options are good -- vertical resolution is terrible (unless all you're doing is watching movies), viewing angles are poor, and contrast ratios is even worse.

It's sad, but if you care about the screen, your best option is to buy a T61 from eBay. The 1600x1200 Flexview/IPS screen remains (by far) the best notebook screen money can buy.

The T/W 500 WSXGA+ CCFL panels also have good contrast.
