Poor HeadphoneSound Quality from T500

#1 Post by Marked_0ne » Fri Oct 23, 2009 3:31 am

I've had my T500 for about 2 months and love it EXCEPT the sound quality when using heaphones is VERY poor. Things sound alright when plugged into speakers, but when I use headphones there is a fuzzy buzz sound behind the audio playback. This makes listening to soft/ambient music almost impossible. It is the same even when I use nice headphones that otherwise wouldn't have any buzz.

Is this normal or could my thinkpad sound card/sound settings have a problem?

Boot up a Linux Live CD and listen to a CD via headphones. If it still hums you have a hardware problem. If not, you have a Windows driver problem.
