If you can handle the extra bit of money, the T400 is the way to go.

The SL410 has a glossy cover (zomg ).
It doesn't have the same build quality from what I gather from reviews.

The T400's screen is much higher resolution, which is great. I'm pretty sure the SL410 isn't LED backlit, so the T400 wins again here in my opinion.

T400 graphics card outpaces the integrated by a long shot; the ATI runs Crysis at low at 30-40 FPS on mine compared to 5-15 FPS on the integrated.

On the other side, you have the glowing red LED light on the Thinkpad logo.
