Ok, I'm a bit confused on my new T400. On startup during the splash screen when I press the blue button, it takes me directly to the R&R. I thought it was supposed to bring up the pre-desktop area? Have they taken out the pre-desktop, or how do I get it back?
Also, I've been trying to find all the 'F' key options available during the splash screen. So far I've only found:
F1=BIOS
F11=R&R
F12=Boot device
Any others?
Blue Button on Startup
Re: Blue Button on Startup
I don't recall ever seeing a pre-desktop area on any Thinkpad I've owned, and I have owned most models including T400. Those F key combinations are about it.
Re: Blue Button on Startup
My old T40 (pre Lenovo) had a DOS graphical interface (I think it was called the Pre-desktop), that gave you the choices of BIOS, R&R, Support, Boot Device and several other things (can't remember all of them).
Hate to say it, but it was really nice and intuitive. I miss it
Edit: Ok it was also called the Hidden Protected Area.
