Thinkpad T400 - Clean Reinstall? Drivers?

Hi guys,
I just bought a new lenovo thinkpad t400 and It came with windows 7 64 bit home premium. (I have only 2gb of RAM but i plan on adding more later).
My question is, today I have upgraded using windows anytime upgrade to get to windows 7 ultimate , (which i already had).
But im wondering If i should still do a fresh install? In my experience fresh installs have always been better much faster etc...
AND if I do this fresh install, how hard will it be to find ALL my lenovo drivers and utilities and install them properly? I want all my Fn buttons to work properly and the green notifications to pop up on screen when I use them, etc etc.. But in the past I have clean installed laptops and found I lost use of the Fn buttons which was more than enraging.
So my first question 1) is do you guys think I should just be happy with the ultimate 64 bit upgrade I did? Or fresh install?
2) which browser is the best? On my beast PC at home core i7 OC@ 4.0ghz 6gb ram gtx260 and more I dont want to type, Chrome works terribly for some reason, but IE and FF work EXCELLENTLY. on Chrome Pages wont load sometimes I have to push go twice or three times but on my netbook which is obviously MUCH slower and less powerful chrome works well! So for my thinkpad in your opinion?
