#1 Post by thnkpdrox » Sat Dec 26, 2009 7:17 pm

Can anyone direct me to a legitemate website that sells unused ultrabay battery for my t400? thanks

also, before i installed windows 7, i was able to turn on and off the optical drive at will, it helped conserve battery. after upgrading to windows 7, i do not have such an option.. any help on that please??? thank you very much

You should reinstall the Power Management drivers and the Power Manager; the ones from the Vista you upgraded from probably will not work properly on Windows 7.

@dvoschak thanks but is that the only one available? with the dent and scratch? lol

@Colonel O'Neill installed the windows 7 beta power management driver from the ibm 307 website :/ are you sure that the power managment turns off the optical drive?

Usually the only thing dented or scratched is the box. A lot of people here, including myself, have picked up batteries from the outlet that were virtually new.

Yep, my optical drive turns off after a while. The drive under My Computer shows up as powered off and the little green light next to the Ultrabay eject switch is off. Both of these change when I hit the DVD tray eject, and the system tray icon tells me it is turning the drive back on.

yes, that is exactly what i was able to do when i had vista, however, not it is not the case :( it seems that it doesnt recognize it as a plugged into a usb or something. are you sure this is the job of the power manager? and not the software that game with the windows 7 upgrade? because i haven't installed thinkpad message centre etc.
