T400 - Cracked wrist rest caused by keyboard?

#1 Post by jasonth » Sat Jan 02, 2010 1:05 pm

I've had my T400 for about a year... and just noticed a crack begin to appear on the wrist rest near the arrow keys. It starts at the right arrow key and moves diagonaly about an inch toward the lower right at a 45 degree angle.

It appears that the wrist rest is not 100% clearing the ridge around the keyboard and it's causing it to flex. I've removed the keyboard and wrist rest a few times trying to find a fitment problem but haven't had any luck. Is anyone else having anything like this with their T400? (I would imagine this would be a long thread of disappointment if it were).

I can post photos if it helps confirm my issue.

I have two more years on my warranty so I'm not shy calling this one in, but if they just replace the rest - it's going to continue to happen.
