Quick question. Does anybody know whether it is possible to fit a 1-terabyte HDD drive (such as the 1TB WD scorpio blue, or analogues) in the drive bay of a T410? These large drives are 12mm thick and do not fit in all laptops - they certainly do not fit in X-series thinkpads.

I don't know, but my guess would be no as they're probably 9.5mm drive bays.

I know you want a whole terabyte, but I was refreshed to see a 500GB option, at
7200rpm for the new T410.
Just think how long the virus scan will take on that!

The 1TB HDDs from WD are the 12.5mm variety and wont work in any recent laptop. Current machines all use the 9.5mm high drives. That drive is just made for their external enclosure so they can say they have a 1TB 2.5" drive. It's 3 disc platters instead of 2.
