Problems with bluetooth in t400

#1 Post by javimelon » Thu Jan 14, 2010 8:27 am

Hello from Spain, sorry for my English.
A few months ago install a new hard disk and install windows 7 without problems, everything was working perfectly until a few days ago, that the bluetooth stop working, in the power on ignites the led, but nothing to start loading, the led goes out and does not recognize the bluetooth in Windows 7.
I have also a partition with kubuntu, in which it works quite perfectly, the led does not go out on having started Kubuntu, and recognizes it without problems.
I tested with others SO, Windows XP and Vista, and the same problem, only in Kubuntu works perfectly.
I have a video in you tube with the start windows 7, and the start kubuntu live CD.
Links:
Windows 7 -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXT_-ttyhfY
Kubuntu Live CD - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYhxNIBEq94

I have the BIOS configured with the factory setings, the security all enable, and the swith on/off in the case in green tab, and i desperate with this.....
Thanks everybody.

I'm guessing that it's a power management issue in the Windows OS's. After windows boots, can you hit FN-F5 on your keyboard and enable the bluetooth radio?

I agree. This is most likely a power management issue. If you don't get a response when you hit fn-f5 then some of the low level Lenovo system drivers have not been loaded properly. I assume the Windows 7 install was from a retail dvd, not a Lenovo factory image?

Hello.
Exactly, it,s a ordinary windows 7 profesional DVD, not´s Lenovo´s SO.

Download and install system update 4. Run all updates, then try it again. Report results here.

See Marin85's excellent post in this thread.

There is a specific order things need to be installed in. Even so, it can be difficult to get everything working right.
