Problem accessing Ricoh Multi-Card Reader

#1 Post by baertracks » Fri Jan 22, 2010 6:04 am

I've upgraded my computer to Windows 7. I've downloaded and installed the most recent drivers (V. 3.64.02). When I put my XD card into the card reader I get a reassuring "bong" that it is being recognized. The card is visible in the task manager to "remove" it. That's all and well, except the card (and its contents) do not become visible as a new drive when I look at "My Computer".

What am I missing here? Is there an installation step or some other method to access the card?

The XD card works fine in my Olympus camera and works in transferring to my laptop via the cable. However, I would prefer to use the card reader.

Suggestions?

Thanks
FRANK

What size card are you using? Cards over 2GB are classified as SDHC which often will not work with some drivers. On my z61t I had to source the drivers for the card reader separately from Lenovo in order to get my SDHC cards recognized. Similar symptoms as yourself. It's in one of my threads in the Windows 7 forum.

Good Point.
In my case, however, it is only a 1GB card.
I will, however, check out that other thread.
Thanks,
