T400- Wallpaper won't fit right

The title says it all.

I'm running XP Pro on my T400 and I've found some truly gorgeous wallpapers

When I right-click, pick Properties, pick Desktop, and apply a wallpaper it seems almost zoomed in and off center. Despite choosing center or stretch- neither will show the Wallpaper I downloaded the way I imagine it should look. I am choosing 1440X900 wallpapers which are my LCD screen's native resolution.

Anyone have an idea how I can get the wallpaper to fill out on the screen right?

EDIT:

I found out that if you set your DPI to large (120) then this happens. I set it back to 96 dpi and the wallpaper shows up fine
