Fingerprint reader not recognized brand new t500

Hey guys I tried searching found nothing ...
have the driver installed.. downloaded thinkvantage fingerprint reader software.. says it cannot communicate with sensor.. tried using the true suite, same thing. reinstalled drivers, software... nothing works. tried clearing the fingerprint reader in bios..

ran our of ideas. i really doubt its bad hardware. i am not using the thinkpad build, i reinstalled w/ windows 7 64 bit.
this really sucks.
