Re: T410 First Impressions
It seems that PAE might not be an option... That or the NVS3100m is inhaling at least some sizable portion of my RAM out of the .5gb reserved by the system leaving me with roughly 3.1GB free.
This is fine with me because I can idle with only .8GB in use, unlike the guys with 12GB total on their desktops with 9GB in use (Morons...) and brag about their "inherently superior 64bit OSes" (Yeah, sure, Win7 Home is better... Sure).

Universal response for all:
Creaking, plastic lid, terrible battery life, SSD upgrades, needing 8GB of RAM to run an internet browser, and all other claims belonging here.

I couldn't help myself, I just have to reply to the/your (?) video post to which you linked above:
Whatever the factual correctness (or not...) of any of the claims that are made in that video, the ...way of putting them across doesn't really help to make them sound credible to me. On the contrary, it forces me to question even those claims which I am not in a position to disprove.
It is my opinion, that the content of that video would break the rules of this board if posted in written form. I therefore ask the moderators to consider, whether it is appropriate for the (apparent?) maker of the video to link to it from this board.
I am disgusted, even though I am not one of those that are referred to in that video.

Re: T410 First Impressions
When you do everything within a reasonable level to demonstrate a valid point to only be told that you're being "opinionative" and "wrong" due to subjective measurements of quality, you go to the next step to prove yourself and keep the attention of those who have a span as short as their SSD random seek times. You may be disgusted but I am only presenting very valid points that are discarded because they are not popular opinion.
What I'm demonstrating in this video and my voiceover as well as annotation is still a sarcastic rant compared to character assassination that the pro-SSD crowd types used on me. Perhaps the faux passive aggressive tone isn't sarcastic enough?

Re: T410 First Impressions
Does anyone here have any bad experiences getting electric shock from its fingerprint? I read in other forums that a fingerprint can cause electric shock, especially when the hands get sweaty.
If so, then why does Lenovo put the fingerprint beside the trackpoint buttons? Why doesn't Lenovo put the fingerprint away from the trackpoint buttons (under the arrow keys like one in T510)?
Best regards,
Denisky

Re: T410 First Impressions
Remember how the internet loves to lie in masses, especially when one person suffers from a problem and the rest feel the need to support the cause? There you go.
I have seen no problems from the FRP from a T42 and my T410. Oh and the location for the T410 seems convenient if you happen to have your fingers on the keyboard (Move right hand down, pick a finger and swipe.)
By the way I have a fun battery life shot for everyone who believes the i7-620m with the NVS3100m is vile and evil because they can't get their i5-520m with integrated graphics to exceed 2.5 hours on a 6 cell fully charged.

Perhaps I should remember to untick "save as greyscale JPEG" the next time. Oh right, wireless off, 7/15 screen brightness, CPU speed set to low. Just finished reading a 15 page PDF about crime statistics of youth in America and why they're invalid.

Wow.. it seems that the new T410 has a really long battery life.. Your T410 looks to last about 6:30 hours in 100% battery... How many cells is it?Navck wrote: By the way I have a fun battery life shot for everyone who believes the i7-620m with the NVS3100m is vile and evil because they can't get their i5-520m with integrated graphics to exceed 2.5 hours on a 6 cell fully charged.

9 cells, and I have another picture for you:
http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/7721/dataexpunged.jpg
And if you view my video directed to many people who keep complaining, you'd see I can pull close to 10 hours off.

Regarding to my previous question, you don't get electric shock from FPR, do you? An FPR is a great addition though.

Re: T410 First Impressions
Most people get much, much lower battery life with their usage habit. Consider me as one of those few users who optimizes their usage habits to get maximum battery life and performance.
My FPR came with the Elite T410 model, the T42 didn't belong to me but a close family member.

Maybe you should post a TO DO / TIPS list of thisNavck wrote:Most people get much, much lower battery life with their usage habit. Consider me as one of those few users who optimizes their usage habits to get maximum battery life and performance.

PS: The video gave me a chuckle but it does have a bit of the youtube satirical twist to it..

Re: T410 First Impressions
If I did post what I did, I would have every...
SSD loving fanboy
Windows hating neckbeard
Lenovo hating moron
"Last True Thinkpad" fanboy
In the combined form of the Marketing Powered Anti Engineering Sheeple horde trying to denouce me as a dirty, lying representative of both Lenovo, the US Government's Evil Conspiracy, and the Harddrive Cartel of Evil SSD Bashing Lies so they may protect their Rightful Commune of Excessive Spending for 8GB of RAM That They Will Never Use.
Shall I make a post and let most of the internet accuse me of a liar and hate me for how I achieve more than they can even if they combine as a Groupthinking blob of "our net intelligence is higher, therefore we justify our existence?" I will need a few people to actually, you know, be my allies and support the things that I say which are often times, factual but harsh. (I promise, I will share how I actually achieve these battery runtimes if someone actually listens to me for once with a little support and testing on their end, too.)
Edit: Oh of course, I forgot to mention the people who think the latest Thinkpads are pieces of trash and they bought a Macbook or a Sony in order to attempt to justify theirselves.
I wish I could just respond to people by sending them video macros of a senator shouting "YOU LIE" and Arnold going "STOP WHINING", even if they are perfectly valid responses. However I have to burn off a little bit of my sanity everytime to argue with people who really just deserve an audio or video macro instead.
