3G Modem in Windows 7

#1 Post by whizkid » Sun Feb 07, 2010 3:59 pm

I have a T400 (2764-CTO) and recently purchased the internal 3G modem for it, directly from Lenovo.

It works great in Linux (so the hardware works!), but I can't seem to get it to work in Windows 7 Professional.

Any tips?

There are a few different 3G modems that Lenovo may supply for a 2764CTO... do you know, specifically, which one your purchased?

Cheers,

I have a T400 and an X200 both with F3507g 3G cards which work fine with Windows 7 Ultimate x64..... so you card should work.

Chers,

Bill

Well, that's good to know. I'm using Access Connections on Win7 Pro 64-bit.

More accurately, Access Connections says some other client has that modem. I haven't found out how (or if) I should try to stop Win7 from controlling the modem.

In any case, Windows says the modem is not powered on. Fn+F5 doesn't show an option to turn it on, and Repair doesn't work. (Again, the modem works fine in Linux, so the BIOS hasn't disabled it.)
