Headphone Jack

Just received a T500 from the outlet store and for the life of me cannot get the headphone jack to work. The speakers work fine (actually great- compared to the T4x lineup), but the headphone jack does not work.

When I went into the control panel> sound, it looks like I have to have either one or the other on. When I defaulted the headphone it still didn't work.

Any thoughts, advice- thanks

One of the machines I ordered from the outlet for a co-worker had some hardware issues, which were resolved with depot warranty service. If nothing else works calling for repairs may help.

I've had fairly good experiences with the warranty service on ThinkPads, enough so that I ordered a warranty extension for this X61T so that when I pass it on to my mom after my T410 arrives she'll be covered. Judging from some comments here, however, great Lenovo warranty service is not always the case.
