Which Update Service To Use?

I posted this in another forum but no answer. Apparently it was not the correct group. I have a 3 month old T500. Should I use the Lenovo software update service to get Win 7 updates or the Windows Update service?

Or should I use both?

Use both.

The Lenovo Softwrae Update service may offer you Microsoft updates which are specific to known operating system issues with your particular ThinkPad hardware configuration (which Lenovo interrogates).

These updates may not be offered more generally by the Microsoft update service, which on the whole just regards ThinkPads as being in the generic machine class of "laptops" .
