T410s Canada Cheaper?

#1 Post by andrjam » Wed Mar 17, 2010 12:07 pm

Why is it that in Canada sometimes it's possible to buy Thinkpads cheaper than in the States?
Is there an assembly plant or it's just logistically more efficient to sell in Canada thus less expensive?

Marketing 101.

Pricing usually has little to do with cost of sales. Vendors usually set the price as high as market can bear. Another example ( in reverse ) is new car sales. Same car that is sold in Canada can be bought for up to $7000 - $8000 less in the States until very recently.
