Cracked Bezel

#1 Post by ryan1212 » Thu Mar 25, 2010 9:01 pm

The bezel to the right of my screen cracked. The screen is still fine. I bought this refurbished from the outlet in September, and their was always a bulge in the bezel like the screen was not installed properly. I thought it was just cosmetic, but now that exact place has developed a hairline crack.

Do you think I could get lenovo to cover this?

Being that they changed their warranty policy to no longer allow upgraded warranties on outlet machines a few weeks before I bought mine, I just have the 1 year depot warranty.

Thanks

Wow. They won't let you buy an extended on an outlet item?!

I am working towards getting an S10 for a family member this summer. I was excited and under the impression that outlet laptops had the option for extended warranty. No option for extended warranty stinks!

Thanks for the info!

They might replace it, but I had a hard time getting Lenovo to replace my LCD when they cracked it during a repair (I sent the laptop in when it wouldn't boot and to get the LCD hinge replaced; it came back booting fine and with a replaced hinge but also with a hairline crack in the LCD).

The good news is that the LCD plastic bezel is pretty cheap (around $30) and it's not too hard to replace either.
