Ultrabay Drive Striping

I've always been curious about drive striping using LVM or something of the like on my T400 using an ultrabay disk.
Recently, another laptop of mine fried a motherboard, and I've been curious if is possible, or furthermore, viable, to use disk striping on a T400 with second harddisk using a Ultrabay disk drive.

Would it be possible to do disk striping with a ultrabay HDD adapter?
It seems fairly straightfoward, but I'd like to know my chances before I tried it.
