which card should I try ?. They should land up at our market soon...

If you're asking about express card brand names, I'd suggest not buying an iMicro card.
I did, off of ebay, and despite much crap dealing with 'customer service', they wouldn't
send me a Windows driver disk, even though the iMicro website clearly shows a disk.
Wasted way too much time. There are at least two, maybe more, ebay vendors
that are peddling these things, out of San Jose.
So, I went over to Sewelldirect.com and bought one they had(was actually cheaper).
It came with a driver disk, installed cleanly and works fine. AND, it appears many
of the express card adapters are made by NEC. The driver from Sewell actually
worked with my iMicro adapter, so I ended up with two that work(which was what
I originally wanted).

Is USB3 a better option for backups than eSATA?

Well, How do I get esata on my T400?
I am just waiting for a kill for second round of USB3 express cards....they should be cheap by that time...

nice,very good.
I am going to my friend who runs a HD data recovery service to check on this new interfaces...
I will check the transfer speeds on real cards only. The advertised rates say upto $%^&*Mbps/s(like the Kingston pen drives)
and all such garbled measures but never the real raw transfer speeds.

Both allow you to max out the hard drive's speed so unless you have something that exceeds the speed capabilities of eSATA (I don't think there are even any SSD discs that do yet) than they will probably work just as well as each other.
