SIM Lock?

I'm eyeing a T410s, which is not available in Ireland at present. The T400s that have been available were advertised with a Vodafone SIM, presumably a trial offer. Are Thinkpads ever SIM-locked to a network, like phones are? If I buy from elsewhere, e.g. from the UK or further afield, do I run the risk that an Irish SIM won't work?

Hi ,

Have pleasure of travelling all over the world with a T410s-cto for a while now (((THIS model was suppoed to have the now "FAMOUS VARIABLE VIDEO CARD"

The GOBI card avalible is:

1) DUAL RADIO ( can do CDMA - sprint , verizon etc AND HPDSA =ATT, Vodafone etc

2) SIM slot is NOT LOCKED ((atleast on the T410s I got !!))

Am not sure which country you be 'ordering' your T410s , but Mine came ordered via or USA offices. I will check with others - pple who have ordered via EU offices..

Hope this helps
