Advice on sleeve for T410s or T400s?

#1 Post by Thonkpad » Mon Apr 26, 2010 6:11 pm

I'm looking for a sleeve that fits the T410s and was wondering if people have recommendations.
It seems that since the T410s is so slim compared to your average 14" laptop, most standard 14" sleeves will be too loose. Lenovo themselves don't sell one... :(

Who has found the perfect sleeve?

..umm a friend gave me one that he got from APPLE - seems its for the 13.3 model Apple. Am not sure what where to get it , as its got no writing apart from APPLE logo. Fits nicely , and excellent protection around the house.

I use it for my personal use - and dont use it for 'travellin around'...

Sorry not much help .....but thats what comes to mind.

I got one of these which works pretty well for my T400s.

I was looking at those recently. How thick are they mpcook? I see they have one for many of the ThinkPad series even the SL series. I wonder if there are any differences between the 14" types as the pictures make it seem they are a "one size fits all" deal.

As usual, the SFbags.com sleeve for the T410s fits like a glove. Very happy with mine. Not cheap, though 8)

I'll second Volker's recommendation. I got a Waterfield (sfbags.com) sleeve for my T400s and am very happy with it.

FYI, I chose the horizontal 26-19 sleevecase with no flap plus a medium gear pouch for the charger and mouse. I leave the pouch behind (in the car, at my desk, etc) a lot, so this 2-piece arrangement works quite well for me.

It fits perfectly and you don't have to take it out when you go through airport security. It's a bit thin, but it works for me, I keep it in my backpack.

Thanks for the suggestions!

I'm sure the SFbags are great but they are more bulky/protective than what I was aiming for.
For most of the sleeves offered on ebay my suspicion is that the seller has a standard 14" size and then lists it with separately with a bunch of different model names to suggest a custom fit.

mpcook's suggestion looks nice but I'd prefer a vertically oriented design.
For now I decided to go with this 13" sleeve, most of these are so cheap it seems worth to try and buy a couple different ones:

BTW, the Thinkpad in question has yet to arrive :)

For the record, the SFbags sleeve works well with airport security too. Just lay it flat on the conveyor belt and flip the piggy bag up (so it is not on top of the laptop).
