Re: The Ultra T410 Guide (No RJ-45 w/ RS-232 please)
Comparing the personal experience of the inside of my T400 to the training videos of the T410, I can say the new design is quite a bit easier... Especially not having to take off the palmrest to take off the keyboard.

I figured out the "palmrest creaking" for the right side and the front sections.
Its related to torquing the screws down to spec, if they're a little loose the palmrest is free to move and some parts are not under tension.

Hello Navck I admire your work all around this forum, and I think that this whole post of yours comes to show how experienced and worthy of admiration you are.Navck wrote:INSTALL THE PERFORMANCE FEATURE. That is the main component you'll care about.
It might do something stupid during install. Kill the installer processes and try again.
Anyways I followed the link you supplied went to Windows7_OS(C:)/NVIDIA nTune 2.0 install/nTune 2.00.23.05/setup
An error shows up which states:
"This software requires an NVIDIA NForce2 or nForce3 motherboard to operate.
No required products were detected. Installation will now be aborted."
Any ideas on what is triggering this error, or what should be done?
Thanks in advance
Yakl

I'm unsure what might be going on there. Does the error show up when you attempt to isntal lit? Did you run it in XP Compat mode for the installer? It worked on my system on the install but it took a few tries to get it to behave nicely.

It happened when I tried to install it. I am not sure however what you mean by xp compat mode and how to do that.

To use compatibility mode, right click on the installer, click Properties, and go to the Compatibility tab. There, you can choose which previous OS environment to emulate for that specific program (likely XP SP3 in this case). You might also want to check "Run as administrator" as well.

Could I remote desktop/remote assist you attempt to figure out what the heck NVIDIA did to the nTune installer that is making it not want to install?
Re: The Ultra T410 Guide (No RJ-11 w/ RS-232 please)
Sure thing. But I have never used this before, so if you could be so kind to send me steps to how we can do this I will as soon as possible.
Thanks alot!
