Anyone have T400 recovery discs?

#1 Post by Oliver26n » Fri May 14, 2010 12:47 am

Got a steal of a deal on a T400 I plan on giving to a family member. Anyone have XP Pro/Home or Vista recovery discs?

Eh... I'd just install whichever OS you want and then run System Update to get the latest drivers. Then make a backup/rescue image using ThinkVantage Rescue and Recovery. Achieves virtually the same effect.

I know a lot of people hate the Lenovo software, but I'm one of the ones who loves it. Found a set on eBay that I'll be purchasing :)

you still get the lenovo software when you run system update, afaik. i installed a stock version of win 7 pro x64, and have all the lenovo bells and whistles i want (and i don't install the ones i don't). that includes things like pc doctor, etc.

A lot cheaper this way. $14 recovery discs instead of $200 install discs.
