T410 Refresh Rate Problem

Hi,

My T410 has a problem with its refresh rate when being run on battery. It switches to 50Hz instantly when I unplug it even though I have set "Never" in Power Manager. I have reinstalled the Intel GMA HD driver and Power Manager as well, to no avail. I have the latest versions of both software, and am running a 64bit version of Windows 7.

Any ideas?

Yep. There's another setting you have to change. Here's the instructions:

Unfortunately, my T410 has integrated graphics, so there is no NVIDIA Display Power Saving option.

Shoot, sorry, in my haste I didn't realize those instructions were for nvidia. There is a similar procedure for the intel.

I've found a workaround to the problem: if I disable igfxpers.exe from starting up, then no refresh change happens when I switch to battery power. I'll go check and see if the power manager setting for lowering the refresh rate after a period of time is still effective or broken later.

Following up, Power Manager seems to have a bug in which the "lower refresh rate" setting doesn't change anything. Can anyone with a T410 with integrated graphics verify if this setting actually has any effect, and whether their refresh rate is automatically lowered to 50hz when they unplug their computer?

Thanks.
