Acronis for T510
Just wondering which version of Acronis is compatible w/ the T510 WIN 7 64 BIT?
I use Acronis 6 on Win XP on my old T60. But if I create a SecureZone on T60, Acronis will delete the factory recovery sector.
Will the same happens for T510? Is Norton Ghost better?

Re: Acronis for T510
I would assume the latest version of Acronis should be fine. I don't recall them having separate 32/64-bit editions, but you should check into that.
Personally, I've tried Ghost a few times, both older and newer versions, and always found Acronis True Image to be more user-friendly, configurable and reliable.

Re: Acronis for T510
I recently bought Acronis True Image 10 Home version(per recommendations on this board), and it works great with Win7 64bit on my W700.

Note, however, that Acronis Disk Director is NOT compatible with Windows 7 (any version), and merely installing it -- without using it even once -- will render Windows 7 unbootable, unrepairable, and unrecoverable.
Re: Acronis for T510
This is a very strong statement, which if true, means that Acronis Disk Director is a terrible piece of software (or that Windows 7 is a terrible OS, more difficult for me to believe), if just the installation can mess up the partition table so bad that it is beyond repair.EOMtp wrote:Note, however, that Acronis Disk Director is NOT compatible with Windows 7 (any version), and merely installing it -- without using it even once -- will render Windows 7 unbootable, unrepairable, and unrecoverable.

Re: Acronis for T510
Great, I will get a new copy of it. By the way, how to suspend the automatic back-up in the ThinkVantage system. Since Acronis is there, there is no need to use the Lenovo back-up system, I assume. Thanks.
