Intel X18 Upgrade in a T60p now -> T410S later?

I was thinking of putting an SSD in my T60p for now in anticipation of putting it in a T410s later. Would this be possible? I'm assuming that I will need a 1.8" to 2.5" SATA adapter. Can I get this part from Lenovo? If so, does anyone have the part #? Or would anyone be willing to sell me their extra?

It's definitely possible. I dont' know if Lenovo sells a 1.8->2.5 adapter, but there's no reason that I can see to buy it from them even if they did -- SATA is standard, so any generic you pick up from eBay should work just fine.

3.5" and 2.5" hdd's use the same (standard) sata connector. Intel's 1.8" drives use microsata connectors.
A random sata<->microsata cable is probably too big to fit, though you can try. I'd recommend you get part number #42W7888. Google or buy it directly from Lenovo/IBM
