It's an excellent deal but why do you need 3 notebooks? An all three are not ultrapportable?

GrandMaster
Thanks...
I plan on selling the R500 to offset some of the cost of the T510..
The T410 screen is too small for my eyes..so gave it to my dad.

As for the processor, tests of the Macbook Pro's that use the same CPUs show only a 10% speed increase for the i7-620m over the i5.
By the way I'm curious, how did you get that huge discount?

Varu -
Yeah, I'm sure the CPU wont make that much difference anyway - i'm not overly concerned, even p4 would suffice for me.
It was an advertised special on lenovo (pre-memorial day i believe) which came with the i7 cpu and the extended battery.
On top of that, I used a partner discount thru my company and another coupon code I got from thinkpads.com

I can give you a scenario where two systems with completely identical hardware will yield different benchmarks after given to two different users to "customize." I could even have the original system benchmarked and it might sit right smack dab center.
Mind you, the internet believes my T410 with a i7-620m, NVS3100m, 4GB of RAM (7-32 Ultimate, I don't care for that 64 silliness when most people don't have a reason to use it either), 320GB 7.2k Hitachi should only have 4 hours of battery life yet I defy their i5-520m, 8GB of RAM, 128GB SSD systems. (Which only get 5 hours on a 9 cell, how weak.)
My T410 has been my "desktop replacement" for my desktop, which has an i7-920, nvidia 8800GTX, 3x1GB of RAM, two enterprise HDDs (Raptor, RE3 320GB) and two consumer drives (Caviar Black, 640GB x2) while its down.
