Bad RAM?

Just installed two modules of ram and my T400 2767-2NU began freezin up on me with flashing stripes all over the screen. I removed one module and have now been able to run all memory tests fron Lenovos software without any crash with the first module. Repeated this procedure with second module, that passed the test but crashed immideately after I closed the results info.

This seems like a ram malfunction, right? Appreciate any insights.

Thanks! /Michal

Give us some details on the ram module/s installed and new. Manufacturer and part numbers?

And exactly what "Lenovo software" you used to perform the memory test.

The (corrupt?) ram chip is a: samsung 4gb 1Rx8 PC3-8500S-07-10-B1 M471B2873EH1-CF8 0917

The software is Lenovos version of Pc-doctor.

Edit:

The preinstalled chip is an Elpida 2GB PC3 8500S-7-10-F1. It´s now running along with the other ram chip I bought which is a similar 4GB Samsung (Made in China).
