Sorry in advance if this topic has been covered before, but I didnt find any threads with the search function
I'm thinking of putting in a 1tb hd into my t400 but it seems that the height of the hd is 12.5mm not the standard 9mm. Will it still fit?
Thanks

If you don't use your optical drive that much(or at all) a good alternative is to get the Ultrabay HDD adapter. The largest drive you can get in the 9.5mm size is 640GB. My personal setup in my T400 is a Hitachi 7K500 in 500GB(fastest laptop HDD you can get) with a WD Scorpio Blue 640GB in the Ultrabay... although the WD's going bad. Still, for 1120GB of space in this form factor, i'd gladly lose an optical drive.

That's a good idea esp since starting with the T400 they now have sata connectors.

Looks like Newegg is now stocking a 9.5mm 750GB drive from WD drive as well. Looks like the only 1TB drive is still 12.5mm though.
