Hi,

This is my first post on this forum :)

I've got a question. I recently pruchased a T410i without a mobile broad band card. I then called lenovo and ordered the GOBI 2000 9205 card. The install went fine, and the carrier's software picks up the card's existance, but in order to transfer my current service over to it, i need the ESN number. Can anyone tell me where I can find it?

Joe

ESNs have been replaced on newer equipment by MEIDs (16 hex/18 decimal places). Your card has an MEID -- provide that to the carrier. The MEID can be "mapped" into a pseudo-ESN (called "pESN") for use where the concept of ESN has not yet migrated fully to MEID. Below is a conversion utility:

Thanks EOMtp. So now that i know it uses an MEID number, where can I find that? It dos not appear to be printed on the card anywhere.

There are multiple ways of seeing the number. For you, perhaps the easiest would be one of the following:

1) Install Verizon's VZAccess Manager, start the program, and look under "Help/About". Use the link below, find the section labeled "Laptops with Embedded Verizon Wireless WWAN Module", and download Version 7.2.1 (2420b) for Lenovo:
http://www.vzam.net/download/supported.aspx
or
2) Open Lenovo's Access Connections (if you have it installed), and look at the WWAN card information it displays.

Good luck!
