T410 air intake and flex on the left palmrest

Hi!
Is somebody know where are the air intakes on the T410? And what is in the left side under the palmrest, because I noticed an annoying flex there? Also the plastic creaks there if I push down with my hand. thanks in advance!

The intakes are strategically located all over the bottom and the speakers grille area inhales a bit of air.
As for the creaking, you'd have to reseat the bezel (See the topic I'm giving you) and/or put index cards in to get rid of the rubbing.

Thanks.
And what about the solution that I put a smart card reader into this hole of left side? Wouldn't it get rid of the flexing/creaking?
I was interested in the air intakes because I would like to buy a cooling pad for my T410 (and for my lap too:)). If the air intakes are located on the bottom I think I would be ideal an Enermax Aeolus. It pushes the air up toward the air intakes.

It has one big vent that makes it less noisy and it covers the whole bottom and air intakes. I hope that pad will decrease the fanspeed because currently it reaches to approx. 3580-3600 RPM and it's a bit noisy for me.
In the service it was told me that I should avoid the using of tpfcontrol so it left the cooling pad.
What do you think about that?

Smartcard reader might make the creaking worse, reseating the bezel generally fixes it and if it doesn't, you'll have to use an index card to get rid of that plastic to plastic rubbing (Which is the creaking.)
I personally use a Coolermaster Notepal U2 but that Enermax pad looks great, the T410 doesn't really need a cooling pad when you have it placed on a nice hard surface like a desk, it doesn't really improve the cooling performance (The thermal solution is really well designed.) at most of the operating range. What does improve your cooling performance is cleaning the intakes out often (Use a can of compressed air or a bulb, occasionally take the keyboard off and hose the fan clean too.)
TPFC is great, I've been constantly changing my profiles and I have one setup to trigger the fan to spool up from level 1 after ir exceeds 50C, I should probably update the topic with my profiles I've been tweaking so far.

Make sure that the processor is set to automatic, so that it throttles down. On my t41, when it was set to full performance, it would idle with the fan on at 53-55 degrees (C). When it was set to automatic, it would idle at 600mhz at about 40 degrees (C), and it would speed up as soon as I needed it to. IMHO, on a new computer like the t410, properly set up, a cooling pad is redundant, and if it is the fan noise that bothers you, the cooling pad will also have some noise - it is all trade offs.

It helps when you're using a T410 in your lap... In bed (Air vents not obstructed by clothing and human fleshiness.)

I tried in my lap but I felt it a bit hot. I wasn't too bad, just uncomfortable. And I have to think of my testicles. They don't like the hotness.

So I need some kind of pad. Anyway your coolermaster lap seems quite good with those removable fans. Without the fans does that metal stand increase the laptop temp or it doesn't affect your system? (I think of the heat transfer between the laptop and the metal surface.)
Does the tpfcontrol in smart mode do something in point of the vent speed or I need to tweak it myself?

No real temperature with or without the fans, really the T410 has a lot of good standoff from hard surfaces it sits on and doesn't really transfer heat from down there. I find the mat helps me when I recline in bed to keep my typing angle comfortable.
