T400 dimensions: varying (1.47/1.12") depth??

#1 Post by hydrostarr » Tue Jul 20, 2010 11:03 am

This review shows the T400 dimensions as 13.2" x 9.4" x 1.47/1.12".

What does the variabe 1.47/1.12" depth mean? With and without lid closed, possibly? (I have T41's and an R52...and these seem to have no "slope" to their depth dimension...fwiw...so I'm a little confused...)

1.12" is the thinnest point of the laptop, 1.47" the thickest. The thickness isn't homogeneous.

Thanks, right, got that. However, I'm looking at pics ( http://www.thinkpads.com/2009/07/27/thi ... s-vs-t400/ ), and I don't see a .3" diff in depth...unless maybe it's that little slope in the front...? If so, the 1.47" is the depth in the "rear" of the chassis?

(Wanting to mostly make sure this isn't a lid-open vs lid-closed thing...)

Yes it is. I have never seen specs showing the lid-open thickness. I remember tech sites spoke a lot about this thing when the Macbook Air and the X300 were released.

Thanks Danoc, good to know all depths are with closed lids.
