Resolution problem

Thinkpad is becoming worse and worse designed, I am wondering where are they headings. I am seriously looking at alternatives after over 10years, 3 think pads.

My first is A 31, a beautiful workstation replacement. 1600x1200

My second one is T42, I love it, 1600 x 1200, I got the screen I wanted, and the computing power, and a light laptop.

Then, these guys throw away the best screens, 1600x1200 is simply unavailable! I settled to w500, 1920 by 1200. It looks ugly, heavy, but at least I got the resolution I wanted. The screen border looks so stupid.

Now, it's becoming worse. 1600 x 1200 is completely out of picture. 1920 x 1200 is not available to any models except w710, to me it's not a laptop anymore.

What I hate most is: they don't tell you they screwed up the resolution, by simply not mention the resolution on laptop spec when you buy it. I almost bought t510 until I found out it comes with the stupid 1920 x 1080. These guys just think people are stupid, that we will buy without knowing the screen resolution.

Do what everyone else does, buy a 15" UXGA+ T60P and keep it running. The screen issue you describe is not just a Lenovo issue. You won't find 1600x1200 UXGA+ LCD's from any manufacturer anymore. So, are you going to give up laptops?
