T410 woes

Like Sunrl, I found a refurbished T410 on Lenovo Outlet last Sunday, but unlike his, I've been having a number of problems with the unit that just came yesterday. So far, my unit is suffering from poor wireless connectivity and mysterious shutdowns. So far, I've gotten the wireless to connect by turning off forcing the wifi to remain powered in the power settings, but I'm still getting rather slow connections to the internet (near dial-up speeds on certain online speed tests) or my network. My other wireless devices (a Zonet wireless adaptor and an iPod Touch, and former but dead ThinkPad units had no problems previously) seem to work without much trouble and have far more respectable performance so I'm not inclined to blame my aging, but still function Linksys Wireless B router. Updating the drivers has mitigated some of the mysterious shutdowns, but it will sometimes flake out and shut down for no apparent reason. Sometimes, merely moving the unit would cause it to shut down, but I've seen it happen from merely starting to type on the keyboard. In fact, in attempting to start it up today, it failed after getting to the password screen on Windows 7, and then while booting up leading the system to go into system restore. So far, I've restored the updated driver from Lenovo in lieu of the updated driver from Intel, and it's managed to avoid shutting down so far.

Is there anything that I can do to try and resolve the problem or will I have to go to Lenovo support and get them to solve it, or is it likely that I got a bad T410 that needs wholesale replacement?

Doesn't matter what else is going on, if you simply move the machine and it shuts down there is an electrical contact or shorting problem that needs repair. So return it or send it in for service.
