Hello,

acually owning a X61 Tablet, I'm just one step away to buy a T410s... The only question I've is the thickness of the laptop.... Isee that it can go from 21mm to 26 mm depending on hardware configuration.

Can someone tell me what model is having 21 and what model 26 ?

is it the Battery ? multitouch ? Dual graphic card ?

Thanks a lot !

It's not depending on hardware configuration or anything... It's just thickness at the front (21.1mm) versus at the back (25.9mm).

"Ultraportable"means the laptops is light and says nothing about its thickness. As far as portability is concerned, why would it matter whether a laptop is 0.9" or 0.6" thick?

FYI, in case you are contemplating the touch-screen option, the thickness at the back (the thickest point) is 30mm and the weight goes up by about 300g as well.

I'd say the T400s/T410s models are ultraportable complete machines. They have 14" LCD's, six cell batteries and optical drives, something that many ultraportable, but not ultrausable machines have. They also weigh just under 4 lbs, which is only slighly more than an ultraportable with an extended battery, no optical and smaller LCD.

These models do seem slim, you won't think it's thick at all. However, they do not seem small. Surprisingly, the depth is greater than a Z61t, for instance. They are basically the same size as a standard T410, but much thinner and lighter.

If cost were no factor, I wouldn't hesitate to replace my X60s with one. If that were to occur, it would be first time I wouldn't be using an X-series for travel in over 10 years.

The T410s is slightly thinner than the T43. The battery is a different design, ultra thin and fits under the palmrest, so you don't have that battery bulk (and weight) that is at the rear of the T43. I found it as thin and light as I could find without going to a 12" screen or a netbook. HTH. Good luck in your search.

So I made my purchase ... got a very good deal on a dual graphic model .... I have to say that it seems very light and thin. The formfactor is not optimal for me .... I still prefere the 4/3 to the widescreen ... but it is quite amazine what they 've done in a so small size ...

I just upgrade with a caddy where I've put my 500 gb HDD, because the original SSD is not sufficient for me !
