I am thinking of taking advantage of a web special and my student discount to order this ThinkPad T410 for $1,097.10 in US dollars.
Is this a good deal?

It's an OK deal, you're not going to be happy with that LCD though. Find a T410 with a WXGA+ 1440x900 LCD.

Well right now I'm using a 7 year old entry -level at the time Dell Inspiron B120 and compared to that screen any LED screen would blow it away lol. I'll look at other screen options though. Thank you for the advice

This is a nice deal. Buy this one and then get a warranty extension from Lenovo for basically the same price as your previous quote.
