I just got a T510 yesterday. It has Nvidia nvs 3100M display card with it. When I first started it up, it could show 4GB in the system properties. But once I changed the number of processor, checked to use the maximum memory in the advanced boot options in the msconfig, it showed that I only have 3.86GB usable. So I would like to know if I have done sth wrong?? Or is it because of the graphic card?? Please help!! and thanks in advance for answering my question

It's normal. My 7x64'd T400 reads 3.90GB Usable.

(Although strangely, in an attempted 7x86, which yields 2.99GB with switchable disabled, ReadyFor4GB patched it to the full 4GB)

Shared RAM (Reserved*) by NVS3100m
Pretend that missing RAM becomes VRAM and buy two 4GB modules why won't you?

How about you just change that back to the default as you are wasting your time. For one, that setting is to limit Windows not to expand, it already uses all the cores that are available. You only use that say limit Windows to 1 CPU instead of 2 in systems that have it. If there is no setting Windows will use every single core/cpu that's available.

As for your memory issue, if you turn it back to default and Windows now "uses" all 4GB then tada!
