T410i Recovery media

#1 Post by qbektrix » Fri Aug 27, 2010 4:22 am

I am trying to create the recovery media on a dvd. But for some reason only the boot media is working. The data media does not work for some reason. I even tried it on USD stick. Same issue. Pls guide me someone.

I prefer if the whole recovery media can me made to an ISO so that I keep backup easily and burn it when ever needed.

I am a first time thinkpad user, so excuse me if i am overlooking something the obvious.

The machine is different but the process is identical.

Thanks for the link. But my issue is that the while creating the backup dvd. I have 2 steps, Boot media and Data media. The boot media disk is created successfully but I data media is not happening. No clue why. I just get not responding error. My OS is windows 7.

You created the start up disk on CD and then it asked you to enter another disk. At this point you put a DVD into the CD/DVD drive. Am I correct up to this point?

If no, then please describe the steps exactly. If yes, then please say exactly what happened when you inserted the DVD. Were there any messages? Did it sound as if the DVD was being written on?

We only know what you tell us.
