T410 Graphics

Hi, all!

Long time lurker.. first time registerer. :) You guys have been invaluable to be since my early days of administering the R51 series (they were older at the time).

Anyhow:

I went to a show and actually won a T410 a couple of months back - a nice package, notable step up from the T43/T60s that have been the ones I've used recently. Sadly, the laptop has only Intel integrated graphics.

(My machine is a 2518-C2U, incidentally).

I'm pretty sure that I know the answer to this - but is there any avenue that I might be able to try with Lenovo to get the NVS 3100M discreet graphics? I've not had the unit open, but I've had to take apart many a Thinkpad over the past 5 years due to the various tendencies of the platforms... :) ... so that wouldn't be a stumbling block.

Thanks a lot for the time - sorry my first post is a beg. :)

Dave

Err - sorry, it's not the 3100M - got my models confused. It's the 5700.

There' s only (2) ways to get discrete graphics. Purchase a system board with discrete graphjcs. Sell the laptop and purchase one with discrete graphics.

Ah - well, that's unfortunate. Hard to complain about something that is free, though! :)

Thanks for the reply.
