Thinkpad T410 screen and Lenspen Laptop Pro screen cleaner

Hi!

I want to use a screen cleaner on my T410, called lenspen laptop pro.
I bought one yesterday but I didn't read the instruction in the shop. It says this: " Do not use nylon mesh or anti-glare screens."
I check the lenspen's homepage and I found in a video this explanation for the anti-glare problem:
"These surfaces are difficult to clean as the uneven surfaces trap tiny particles and fibers inside."
Has anybody use this product before on a matte thinkpad screen? Did it cause any problem? What do you think will it kill my screen or won't?

Thanks in advance!

I'd describe the T410 screen as being a pearl or very mild semigloss compared to a full on textured matte screen. Go on and try, don't apply too much pressure and use a small blower bulb or a can of compressed air to remove the large chunks of dust if you're afraid of small scratches. (LCDs have a hardcoat layer these days.)

Hi!

Thanks for your reply. I'm afraid that the active carbon dust will kill my screen. (And after this I will kill myself too.:)) Are you sure it won't cause any problem? I asked the lenspen too and they answered this:

"The matte, antiglare finish will trap particles of the carbon-based cleaning compound if you apply the LapTopPro to this surface. This will result in black streaks on your screen.

For more details please see our online flash animation demonstration video at http://www.lenspen.com/403/288/

Please consult your owners manual for alternative cleaning methods for your matte screen."

Time to use a microfiber cloth and maybe a little water then.
