SOLVED: Help! Optical Drive won't open on my T410S.

#1 Post by anthony » Wed Sep 29, 2010 6:24 pm

I've tried enabling thru the power manager. Been thru the power on/off cycles. Tried the alt menu "open" option of Explorer. Tried under safe mode. The light comes on, but it won't open. Any suggestions.

Does it make any noise when it tries to open?
Does the problem persist if you take the drive out of the UltraBay and put it back in?

Have you tried forcing it open with a straightened paper clip inserted into the small hole in the face plate?

I've tried the paper clip in the hole trick; no action. Also booted, hit F1, and tried to open it from inside the
BIOS; nothing. No, it does not make any sound. Thanks for your thoughts, though.

Update: Removing and reinserting the drive into the Ultrabay worked... Thanks mucho.
