T410 Intel HD GFx - Colors dull after movie (on battery)

#1 Post by SHoTTa35 » Wed Oct 20, 2010 6:54 pm

Ok I've noticed this a few times and i'm wondering what's going on here. I've formatted and installed Windows 7 few times (different video drivers too) but sometimes after watching some full screen video in Windows Media i come back to the desktop and notice all the colors are super dull. They brighten up after few seconds so i'm not sure if it's the display or the graphics card output.

The first time i saw it i took a screenshot but when the screen returned to normal he picture all seemed normal so i'm guessing it's the display itself. The problem is however when watching the videos i don't see any faded or washed out colors, only when I come back to the desktop.

I also put on battery in the subject as it just happened after watching House MD. I don't remember that happening while on AC power.

Anyone got any ideas?

This issue has been posted MANY times.

You have the Intel integrated graphics right?
The display sorta looks washed out, right?
It only happens on battery power, right?

When I first posted the problem, I didn't find any topics when I searched, either. I think it's because it's a difficult problem to describe and users use different terms (adjectives) to describe it. Brightness, dims, dull, washed out, etc.

It's an easy one to miss IMO.
