New switchable graphics driver for win-7 (11-15-2010)

#1 Post by richk » Wed Nov 17, 2010 6:04 pm

There was a new driver package released. It shows up on the Lenovo site, but not yet in system update. I installed it on my machine after taking a backup. It seems to work. I am posting the same note in the W500 forum, since it uses the same driver.

Looks like this updates the switchable graphics driver...but it's still manually switchable, yes? I'm still hoping they will update to a fully automatic option - discrete when on AC power, integrated when on battery.

I don't understand why the Lenovo version doesn't have automatic switching based on power source when the Ati does. I was using the Ati version before the current one. Unfortunately with the current Ati supplied driver screen brightness can't be adjusted.
