Hi All.

My T400 can detect wireless but cannot connect. I'm running Win XP SP3, Intel 5100 Wireless, Wi-Fi card switch ON, LED light green, Device Manager shows no hardware errors or conflicts, WEP password correct. My other laptops works perfect, so this is not a router problem. Thinkpad detects the SSID of the wireless network, good connection signal, I click to connect it trys to but does not connect to the internet...

"Windows is unable to connect to the selected Network. The Network may no longer be in range"

I have tried almost everything without any sucess: drivers updates, roaming aggressivity, power output, firewall, router's settings, DNS & IP... I don't know what more can I do, please help.

Are you running the wireless drivers from the Lenovo driver matrix or the Intel driver site?

I used to have a bit of trouble with my 5300 with drivers from the Lenovo site, but it has since been remedied. Try the drivers off the Intel site, they might just work.

Well, problem solved  I thought that opening T400 would be a very difficult job, but it was very simple! After opening it, I found this:

I plugged that cable into the antenna jack and voilà! WiFi at last!

Oh. LOL. :thumbs-UP:

How'd the wire get disconnected in the first place anyway?

Offtopic, but:
I notice you have the revised keyboard bracing. Do you have the swiss-cheese backplate? If so, does your keyboard exhibit any flex?

Colonel O'Neill, it seems that the support metal brace partially solved the problem, because the cheese-keyboard still flex on the left side, but not too much, it is acceptable in my opinion. :thumbs-UP:
