T400S replacement screen?

Ok by now, it seems everyone knows that the T400s series seems to have the poorest contrast of any laptop screen on the market. I am wondering if there is any place at all that sells either an IPS or some better type of panel we could swap into a T400S to fix that. Sans that issue, the T400S is by far my favorite laptop and I would love to have it be perfect by not having to constantly adjust the screen.

I'm afraid there's no IPS or similar panel for the T400s. Have you tried calibrating the screen? That may help some, but it won't get you near IPS standards.

You might be able to swap to a better TN panel. I'm not sure what the LCD connector on the T400s is like, but if it accepts the LG WXGA+ LED panel then you might want to try that; it's supposedly the best by far. Some of the T410 LCD's are also supposedly good, as well as a select few of the T410s'.

If you manage a swap, please let us know.

(Long since resigned user of a Thinkpad T30, who owns a T410s for 7 months, but hasn't started using it on account of the poor screen. At this rate I'm hoping for better screen choices when Sandy Bridge comes around. Any offers on the T410s, please let me know . Based in Ireland.)
