T400 Battery Hotswapping

Hi. Does anyone know if I can safely swap batteries in a T400 while plugged into AC?

If it is possible, how should I do it? Any particular procedure or status the laptop should be in (i.e. sleep, hibernate, etc)..?

Yes, you can.

Just remove the old battery and insert the new battery (taking care not to knock the external power plug out of its socket if you have the ThinkPad powered up).

Thanks for your answer. I was afraid something (in the battery or in the laptop) could get damaged.
